Our Family
In 1979 we bought some land in Sant’ Antonio, a little village fifteen miles from Modena. At that time the property included 30 hectares of cornfields and several dilapidated buildings.
Since then many changes have happened. We began to cultivate pears instead of cornfield but this time following the organic method of cultivation.
Then we restored some of the buildings in the property. One of them, in 1997 was transformed to an intimate and hospitable countryside restaurant. Due to its location, in the middle of the property, we called it “La Locanda nel Frutteto” (The Inn at the Orchard).
In 2001 we continued refurbishing the property by restoring the barn close to the embankment of the Secchia river. This became the Acetaia CASA TIRELLI where we produce and age our Traditional Balsamic Vinegar. Here we collected the numerous family’s wooden barrels continuing the tradition started by our grandparents.
We love our life here and we are trying to improve our and maintain and we enjoy people that desire to share some of these experience with us
